LWV of Rivertowns has been working with Sharon Courtney, Executive Director for Social Studies for Yonkers Public Schools, to register and educate voters in the public schools for the last year. At the start of the 2025 school year, however, she has asked our help in a very creative approach in expanding these efforts. In an effort to reach parents, she asked us to assist with voter registrations during Back-to-School nights not only in high schools, but in the elementary and middle schools as well. The schools provided student helpers who were an important part of making these events so successful.
