On September 10 the League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area (LWVCA) held “An Evening in Defense of Democracy,” its kick-off event for “Unite & Rise 8.5” The focus was a timely topic: the security of our votes. More than 60 area residents were on hand to hear Otsego County Election Commissioners, Michael Henrici and Lori Lehenbauer, speak on how registration, voting, and ballot counting are carried out by the Board of Elections (BOE).
